This article explains Sun Tzu's concept for gaining an advantage by redefining the competitive ground. Competition is based on making comparisons. The problem is that there are just some areas of comparison in which we are never going to stack up very well. We can seem trapped by fate into situations were we simply cannot meet the standard. In these situations, we can look for openings to no avail. We are dominated by an environment in which we are a square peg in a world of round holes.
