This article explains that barriers describe the difficulties in filling the opening presented by given opportunity. Barriers are obstacles that block access to the opportunities. While opportunities are always difficult to see, opportunity barriers can be either readily apparent or nearly invisible. When apparent, these barriers can completely discourage us from pursuing high-probability opportunities. When barriers are difficult to see, they can lure us into pursuing opportunities that have a very poor chance of success.
