This article explains the six benchmarks we use to choose the best opportunities.Twenty different principles describe the surface characteristics of opportunities. In comparing these characteristics, we could propose a deliberative academic process where all alternative opportunities are identified, facts and opinions carefully collected, and decisions made on the basis of exact quantitative analysis. The problems is that, in real life, this approach is impossible. Most alternatives are never known, facts and opinions are limited, and few key characteristics can be truly measured.
