The Science of Strategy Institute is based on strategic knowledge from experts around the world, but it was inspired and founded on the work of Gary Gagliardi. In just the last few years, Gary Gagliardi has won more award recognition in more categories than any nonfiction author and, of course, more award recognition than any other author writing exclusively on the topic of strategy. He has won
- book award recognition for ten different titles (out of fifteen total)
- from three award committees (Foreword magazine, Ben Franklin, and Independent Publishers)
- in seven categories (business, career, sports, psychology, multicultural, philosophy, and youth nonfiction).
Gary's books have sold hundreds of thousands of copies. They have been translated around the world into a over a dozen languages. His award-winning translations is not only the only award-winning translation of Sun Tzu, but it is uses as the basis for the translation of the The Art of War into other languages.
How hard is it to win a book award? Every year, 500,000 new books are published in the United States. About 10,000 (2%) are submitted for awards. Of that 2%, a few hundred receive award recognition (1/10 of 1%). Less than 1/100 of 1% win a top prize in their category.
