Remember what strategy teaches, positions either expand or die. With that in mind, that deadly warming is not just "global" any more. It is spreading to the entire solar system. It is already affecting Mars, Jupiter, Neptune's moon, and Pluto. Of course, this creates a little bit of a problem for the "human-caused" part of the equation. Hmmm, what to do? What to do? Well, since some of the brightest scientists in the world are dependent on global warming, we can expect them to work out a good strategy, or at least good defensive tactics. Remember, it is always easier to defend a position than it is to establish a new one, so the Global Warming Faithful already have many good approaches to deal with this growing problem with their theory. They are addressing it in at least four ways.
The first and best approach is simply to censor this information from discussion. Kick these solar scientists out of their universities, if you can, but by all means, don't give them a voice, much less a part in any debate. Just shout "Scientific consensus! Scientific consensus!" over and over until everyone believes it. See how much of basic information about solar warming makes it in the next "global warming" news report you hear.
Next, scientists who feel that maybe they should actually deal with physical evidence are giving separate explanations for each planet's warming. For Mars, for example, the explanation is "wobbles" (I am not making this up):
"Wobbles in the orbit of Mars are the main cause of its climate change in the current era," Oxford's Wilson explained. (Related: "Don't Blame Sun for Global Warming, Study Says" [September 13, 2006].)
Next, the truly clever ones accept that the sun is warmer (kind of obvious), but claim that it only accounts for a fraction of global warming based on, well, not any evidence, but the theory of global warming itself:
The new research mentioned by Michaels is the October 2 release of findings by Duke University scientists that "at least 10 to 30 percent of global warming measured during the past two decades may be due to increased solar output rather than factors such as increased heat-absorbing carbon dioxin gas released by various human activities."
But the funniest tactic, in my humble opinion, is the "let us not jump to conclusions" approach, which seeks to study all this evidence for a decade or two so as not to upset the global warming bandwagon applecart gravy train. As this article that says:
More study is needed to determine for sure what's going on.
…"Those dark features look like places where the ice has gone away, but thermal infrared maps show that even the dark areas have temperatures so low they must be carbon-dioxide ice." Christensen said. "One possibility is that the ice is clear in these areas and we're seeing down through the ice to features underneath."
I call this the "Who are you going to believe, chicken little global warming theory or your lying eyes?" approach. By all means, let's jump to the conclusion that global warming IS caused by humans because that idea can generate billions in grants, more power for politicians over our lives, and destroy the evil force of personal freedom once and for all, but let's not encourage this crazy, warm-sun theory because it just stands in the way for all this "progress" (plus nobody is going to pay us a dime to study what everyone already knows).
