Using Words in Positioning

In this recent post, we discussed how important the appropriate use of concise langauge is in articulating strategic positions. Recently the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, offers us a good example of positioning when he described illegal immigrants as "undocumented Americans." Using this same logic, all thieves can re-position themselves as "undocumented customers" or "undocumented tax collectors." Liars and cheats are "undocumented lawyers." Murderers are "undocumented judges, juries, and executioners." Rapist are "undocumented spouses." Can we condemn these people simply because they have a little problem problem with the paperwork?
