Presentation MaterialBasic PowerPoint Shows: The first two presentations can be given for free to market products and further training. Longer (over 90 minutes) and more specialized (sales) shows should only be presented for a training fee. The links below will load the shows into PowerPoint from your browser. You can download the shows and related material using the File Access Area below.
Audio example: This audio is a sample seminar but is based on an older version of the slide show that was more directly based on the Art of War book. (Newer audio of the two long shows above coming soon.)
The Selling SeminarSpeaking for free is initially much more important than speaking for a fee. Our Selling Seminar Outline provides an overview of what you need to accomplish in a free seminar selling the strategic training and other products. This document outlines the parts of a selling seminar. Though it is not a selling seminar, you should also review the latest show we did for Nokia. This 45-minute show is a completely different slide format, based upon our Making Money by Speaking research (though not explained completely in the book). Over time, all Institute shows will have this look and feel. You may want to read this article for executives on our Academy of Strategy site to understand why we are rethinking our PowerPoint approach. Tailoring Your PresentationsAll shows, especially those given for a speaking fee, should be tailored to their audience. Basic shows include slides we suggest for tailoring. This Word document describes how to ask questions to tailor your shows. We have included an example of notes taken from a real-life customer (Video Home Studios) to show you the type of information that is gathered. Examples of tailored shows (NOTE: You will be prompted to either Open or Save the slide shows below. It is best to save them on your own system.)
More Advanced Training ProductsWhen you give a free presentation, the product you are usually trying to sell is a longer (half-day, full-day, or longer) training session. This is the sweet spot in the training market, especially for business or organizational training. We call these sessions “workshops” or “camps.”
