This article explores how communication is based upon a shared understanding of how the world works. The problem is that there is no shared vocabulary for dealing with strategic issues. We have been all been trained to talked about problem solving in the terms of linear thinking. While we learned about strategy from our life experiences, people lack a consistent method to express that knowledge in terms that others can appreciate, even if they have learned related lessons. Without a common conceptual framework and vocabulary, we have to work a lot harder withing our contact network to develop our strategic perspective.
