This article describes how our success depends on the decisions of others. Their decisions depend on their unique motivations and character. Despite that, most of us invest too little on getting perspective on other people. We see their motivations and character myopically, from the point of view of our position and our friends positions. Some are so close to us that we lose our perspective. Others are so distant and anonymous that we think knowing them is impossible.
