This article explains that our plans as a set of predetermines steps have dangerous gravity. That gravity can capture us. It can trap us without our even being aware of it. Like a planet speeding around a star, we think we are going somewhere when we are really going in circles. The gravity of plans, like the gravity of the stars and planets, is determined by their size. The larger and more massive a plan is, the more it tends to control our direction and shape our view of reality. People mistakenly think that the more detailed their planning is, the more likely it is that their plans will be successful. While this is true in production environments, the opposite is always true in competitive environments.
