This article describes the respect for human limitations that underlies all of Sun Tzu's rules. A perfect system that is too complicated for most people to use is not really perfect at all. He saw that we are easily overwhelmed by the complex array of conditions that made up competitive situations. Different conditions suggest a variety of responses. Unfortunately, without training, most of us can easily come up with the wrong response because we lack the perspective on the overall objectives of the system.
