This article explains that there is a seeming paradox at the heart of Sun Tzu's strategy. His system teaches us to seek easy victories, avoiding difficulties, but it also teaches that only by facing difficulty can we reach our true potential. If an advance goes easily, we don't need to be inventive. If we minimize our mistakes, our efforts fail painlessly ([node:content/strategic-opportunity-day-50-our-choice-action-must-minimize-our-mistakes link]). That failure leaves us somewhat wiser, but it doesn't thrust greatness upon us. Fortunately, this paradox goes away when we realize that difficulties, no matter how hard we try to avoid them, always find us.
