This article explains that our success in competition takes us from the competitive arena into the productive one. We may think that the difficult work is behind us after we get others to recognize the value of our position, but it is simply the start of a new task, one which requires very different skills. The problem is that the strategic skills that win positions are different from the production skills that produce value from those positions over time.
