Presentation Material

Basic PowerPoint Shows: The first two presentations can be given for free to market products and further training. Longer (over 90 minutes) and more specialized (sales) shows should only be presented for a training fee. The links below will load the shows into PowerPoint from your browser. You can download the shows and related material using the File Access Area below.

The Quick Show: A 20-minute show introducing people to what our training provides. This show is a short sales presentation for longer shows and other products.
The General Show on Positioning:  A general introduction to strategy (60-90 minutes). This is the basis for both keynotes and free sales seminars, which are designed to sell products.
The Show on Advancing Positions:  The above show with additional material on advancing positions (3-4 hours).
The Strategies for Selling Show:  This is a show addressed to salespeople as the front-line warriors (60-90 minutes).
Workshop Materials: This is not one show but a collection of separate shows for workshop activities. Workshops last for several days and consist of a variety of components: short lectures, games, case studies, drills, and other activities that are designed to illustrate the various key principles of strategy. These materials can be mixed and matched to meet the training needs of a given group.

Audio example: This audio is a sample seminar but is based on an older version of the slide show that was more directly based on the Art of War book. (Newer audio of the two long shows above coming soon.)

The Selling Seminar

Speaking for free is initially much more important than speaking for a fee. Our Selling Seminar Outline provides an overview of what you need to accomplish in a free seminar selling the strategic training and other products. This document outlines the parts of a selling seminar.

Though it is not a selling seminar, you should also review the latest show we did for Nokia. This 45-minute show is a completely different slide format, based upon our Making Money by Speaking research (though not explained completely in the book). Over time, all Institute shows will have this look and feel. You may want to read this article for executives on our Academy of Strategy site to understand why we are rethinking our PowerPoint approach.

Tailoring Your Presentations

All shows, especially those given for a speaking fee, should be tailored to their audience. Basic shows include slides we suggest for tailoring. This Word document describes how to ask questions to tailor your shows. We have included an example of notes taken from a real-life customer (Video Home Studios) to show you the type of information that is gathered.

Examples of tailored shows (NOTE: You will be prompted to either Open or Save the slide shows below. It is best to save them on your own system.)

50-Minute Sales Presentation: Tailored for political candidates, to sell a longer training experience. Listen to the audio of this show here.
90-Minute Paid Speaking Event: Tailored for a corporate speaking event for Hyatt Hotels. This is a typical paid seminar. (Audio coming soon.)
4-Hour Paid Speaking Event: Tailored for a training event for Video Home Studios. This slide show is the result of the notes shown above.

More Advanced Training Products

When you give a free presentation, the product you are usually trying to sell is a longer (half-day, full-day, or longer) training session. This is the sweet spot in the training market, especially for business or organizational training. We call these sessions “workshops” or “camps.”

  • Strategy Workshops: Interactive sessions tailored to a specific organization and group within it, for example, sales, management, etc. (1/2 to 3 days). Created from material in Warrior Class PDF. Please read instructions here.

File Access Areas: These access areas are programs that allow you to download our presentations and other material licensed to trainers. They also allow you to upload your files to share with other trainers.
